Division Duties

  • Preparation of pre-sentence and pre-disposition reports geared at providing the court and the parties with information which is vital in making well informed decisions.
  • The APSD supervises approximately 200 offenders on standard probation and 30 offenders on intensive probation.
Staff Responsibilities

  • Makes use of evidence based practices to maximize the likelihood offenders will be successful in the community and not require more costly interventions
  • Officers are committed to serving victims and make recommendations to the court which consider not only the best interests of the offender but also the best interests of the community.
Restitution

  • APSD staff is also responsible for collecting restitution owed to victims and for ensuring offenders receive much needed treatment services.
  • The division operates a community restitution work program which enables offenders to atone for what they did.
