Elevation Certificate Information

As a condition of all Floodplain Use Permits for structures, the Santa Cruz County Flood Control District (District) requires an Elevation Certificate to be completed and then submitted for review and approval by the District prior to the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.

The district pre-fills portions of the Elevation Certificate form with available information pertaining to the property, in the case of certificates required for Floodplain Use Permits. Additionally, the district highlights the portions of the form that will need to be completed prior to its submittal for review and approval.

The district keeps a copy of all Elevation Certificates that have been submitted as a requirement for Floodplain Use Permits for all structures, Pre-FIRM and Post-FIRM, since June 1, 2001, that have received a Floodplain Use Permit and complied with all requirements of said permit.
